A message from Cllr Elizabeth Campbell, Leader of Kensington and Chelsea Council
Hello, I want you to know that the Council is continuing to do all it can to help residents, workers, and business owners at what is a very difficult time for all of us.
In the last few days we have finished work on setting up a community hub, which is the base from which we will make sure the most vulnerable in our society continue to get the food and support they need.
I visited the hub myself on Sunday and I want to thank the numerous volunteers and Council officers who are stepping into help our communities. It is always heartening to see how this borough responds. When called on to help, we all help each other.
This week, alongside the leadership team, I started making a series of phone calls to people around the borough, to check in and see if there is anything we can do to help.
It is important to me that you continue to hear from your councillors over the coming weeks. It is difficult to be visible when we are all confined to our homes, but we are busy looking at ways to continue engaging with you digitally, whether through online public meetings or through advice, support and stay at home tips from our services and officers.
To begin with, I will be hosting an online question time. I hope to have lots of answers to your questions. Where we don’t have the answers we will help you find them. You can take part here.
I want to assure you that we are continuing to run as many services as we possibly can, and we are making adjustments to those that we cannot run fully or normally.
We really appreciate the patience and understanding many of you have shown; thank you. Let’s keep doing what RBKC does best.
Cllr Elizabeth Campbell
Leader, Kensington and Chelsea Council
