January 2021

Happy new year, and I’m sure that we are all hoping for an improved 2021 as the vaccines are rolled out over the coming months.

SSDRA Community Group: As we enter the new stringent lockdown, we have seen the rate of COVID cases increase significantly across London , and we all need to be more careful. If you need any assistance with groceries or pharmacy, then please get in touch using these contact details: by e-mail to info@SSDRA.org.uk; by WhatsApp to the SSDRA Community Group; or via the COVID form on the homepage SSDRA.org.uk.

RBKC updates on COVID: The RBKC has shared two videos related to the Council’s COVID responses.

1.) The new Community Testing for COVID available at the Great Hall at Kensington Town Hall open to all residents meeting specified criteria, even if not showing symptoms. Link here: COVID testing

2.) The second is a message from the Deputy Director of Public Health for Kensington and Chelsea, Natalia Clifford, explaining the latest restrictions and what they mean for our borough. Link here: RBKC response.

Dovehouse Street parking suspensions: Kier, the contractor working on the new Brompton imaging building, has informed us that they plan to remove the crane from the site on the weekend of 16-17 January 2021. This means that much of the parking on Dovehouse Street will be suspended for the weekend.

Crime update and warning: We also wanted to make members aware of a recent phone mugging on Sydney Street, in which two young men on bicycles shoved him/his head and grabbed the phone before cycling off. This occurred in late afternoon almost in front of the Sydney Arms. Please take care and be aware even if just out for a local walk.
