Our area includes Sydney Street, Guthrie Street, Stewart's Grove, Bury Walk, Pond Place and a few properties in between - a total of around 100 households. The SSDRA holds an annual AGM, typically in October of each year.
We are in regular contact with the Council, police and other authorities and institutions to ensure that the voice of residents is heard on all matters which might affect our area - including planning applications, environmental issues and nuisance.
SSDRA was formed in 1959 by residents to fight plans to demolish 77 houses in our area. The entire west side of Sydney Street, from Fulham Road to Cale Street, was under threat as was all of Stewart’s Grove and Guthrie Street.
