2011 – the residential house at 10 Stewart’s Grove is owned by the Marsden and was being used by the hospital, without planning approval, as a construction site office as part of its ongoing redevelopment programme. As a consequence, all delivery lorries used it, blocking the street for varying lengths of time and creating a great deal of noise and disturbance. The living conditions for residents of Stewart’s Grove and the west side of Sydney Street were severely affected. We and residents strongly objected. At a public meeting of the Council’s Planning Applications Committee, five Councillors unanimously decided that the house must not be used as a construction site office; an Enforcement Notice was issued against the Marsden.
